Console Table
After moving into our new house, I decided we REALLY needed a table under our master bedroom tv. (The piano bench with the Direct TV receiver just wasn't covering it). :) But. . . . . I'm cheap. So I went onto craigslist and found the perfect table (well it was perfect minus the color).
After a full day of sanding and staining, it came out beautiful. Bye Bye ugly 90's console, hello beautiful dark cherry console!

Sentimental Coffee Pot to Flower Pot
My friend Clare recieved this flower pot as a gift for her wedding. On her 9th wedding anniversary, it broke. Sniff sniff. It was too sentimental to get rid of, so Mrs. Creativity turned it into quite the cute flower pot.
Here are other ideas of things to upcycle into flower pots:
- Glass pitchers
- Crockpots
- Tea Kettles
- Ceramic Bowls
Send me pictures of the items you have upcycled into flower pots to [email protected].
*Note: She said that she carefully placed rocks in the bottom of the pot.

Upcycling Old Mason Jars
Once again, my creative friend Christy has made a cute craft!! Instead of recycling old jars (or....... sigh........ throwing them away), with a little creative touch, you can "upcycle" it into something else useful. In this case, Christy turned her old spaghetti sauce jars into useful (and cute) coffee containers.
Directions:
Directions:
Peel the labels off of (clean) mason jars. Sticking them in the dishwasher seems to work the best to get those stubborn labels off.
Sand the words off of the lid, and then paint it. Christy used sample paint from Home Depot (or Lowes). Then drill a hole in the lid for the knob.
Screw in the knob and fill with whatever you like. She filled it with coffee so it can look nice next to the machine, but you can put in office supplies, baby supplies, bathroom necessities. The possibilities are endless! Also jazz it up with whatever accessories you want. Try tying ribbon around the middle or painting the glass.
